Hello!! This week is entirely dedicated to cake baking and decorating. Marissa and I are making Scott Andrews and Ashley Hedger's wedding cake. Today we made sheet cakes and icing. It was quite a lot of fun and DEFINALLY a lot of work. We started at about 10:00 today and it's five o'clock now and we're still going strong!! Four cakes down, two to go!! Marissa and I both considered dashing the entire thing with a marble slab and having done with it all, but we figured that wouldn't go over well. Some of the most hilarious things that happened were: 1) buying all the ingredients!! We had SO much butter, sugar, cream cheese that we couldn't resist taking a picture of it all for your enjoyment. Of course the picture doesn't do justice to ALL the ingredients we used, but it does include quite a bit of it. 2) taking the cakes out of the pans caused great amusement as well. If we drop one it will mean at least another hour and a half. 3) I borrowed my neighbor's mixer and, due mainly to stupidity, (though I blamed it on the mixer) we COULD NOT figure out how to use it. We yelled at it and called it names, all to no avail. I even called the owner to see if she knew any magic tricks that could make the stupid thing work, unfortunately she had no clue. Not until I had completely finished using it and washed and dried everything did I figure it out. Now it doesn't do me much good.

Many more hilarious and amusing things happened today, but I'll refrain from telling all, for those of you who may be eating it.
